This Freshman Seminar will examine visual art, films and text which were produced in the 20th century Italy and center on representations of women and their bodies. In this courses, students will develop skills that are useful for the study of the humanities and the practice of medical professions. Through close analysis of selected works, students will explore the mind-body connections and its implications for conceptions of gender, identity and power, bothe interpersonal and political.
