Basic properties of the positive integers including congruence arithmetic, the theory of prime numbers, quadratic reciprocity, and continued fractions. Theory applied to develop algorithms of computer science and to cryptography. Prerequisite: MATH 235 or 236.
MATH 233 & 235 Co-requisite: Math 300 or CmpSci 250
