Open to Natural Sciences Freshman with a declared major or on the Natural Sciences Exploratory Track. Adapting to a Dynamic Environment-
From the deserts of the Sahara to the far reaches of the Arctic, people have built societies and learned to thrive. But as human populations grow unchecked and environmental degradation accelerates, can we continue to adapt? In this course, students will consider the ways that environmental change, both natural and human-caused, influences society today. We will discuss topics including sea-level rise, drought, and earthquakes in order to examine the ways that we shape our environment, and the ways our environment shapes us.
