English as a Second Language 125 - Tech Of Oral Comm

Develops oral communication skills of advanced ESL students for academic formal presentations and informal discussion. Builds confidence and improves intelligibility through focus on English sounds, rhythm, stress, and intonation. Provides guidance and feedback for the attainment of an expert level of second language speaking and listening proficiency.

ESL 125 is for undergraduate and graduate non-native speakers of English who are international or domestic students. Students improve their English pronunciation so that their speech delivery becomes more comprehensible in the university classroom and in professional settings. Focus is on classroom instruction, applied practice, and individualized feedback.
