Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument? This seminar is for students who want to learn the ukulele and explore their musical side in a fun and supportive environment. Students will learn ukulele basics, including tuning, chords, strumming patterns, and fingerpicking, as well as a variety of songs they can play and sing by themselves or with others. Students will also learn about the history of the ukulele and its iconic performers and ensembles. Students will create their own cover song arrangements and perform these in small groups during the final class. Students must provide their own instrument and should bring it each class, beginning the second week of the semester. For more information about purchasing an instrument, contact instructor via email. All other materials, including chord charts, sheet music, YouTube links, and recordings, will be provided.
