Egyptian Arabic II is offered in a special independent study format through the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Egyptian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions with a native speaker and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. In order to enroll in this course, students must have completed Egyptian Arabic I or the equivalent. Students whose first-year classroom Arabic course included significant conversation practice in Egyptian may be able to place into Egyptian II. Students studying Egyptian Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Egypt and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.
Students must apply to add this course; Contact the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages for details: fivecolleges.edu/fclang
