This seminar is for first-year students who are interested in studying Public Health and related policy, politics, and innovation within Public Health. Participants will gain an introductory knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare System in which Public Health operates. The seminar will tie in key issues pertaining to the 2016 presidential election and how it impacts current state and federal Public Health policies. The seminar will include discussions of Public Health innovations in developing and developed countries; from achieving clean water and sanitation efforts in developing nations to implementing digital healthcare in developed nations. The objective of the seminar is to allow first-year students to explore various academic disciplines which will prepare the student for a career related to the seminar topics and more.
Open to students in the Public Health Exploratory Track and first-year Public Health, Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Communication Disorders majors.
