Many of us want to work in a job where we feel like we are making a difference. Non-profits in the United States and worldwide are dedicated to well-known causes, such as the American Heart Association, or gain popular attention through viral cause-marketing such as the ice bucket challenge for ALS. Non-profits can range from small volunteer run efforts with a very narrow focus, to international networks that wield immense power to enact change. Either way, they must follow best practices to maintain their status and effectiveness. This seminar will explore non-profit management, leadership, and how to get involved in nonprofits.
Open to students in the Public Health Exploratory Track and first-year Public Health, Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Communication Disorders majors.
