English 356 - Creative Writing Poetry

A seminar in writing poetry for students who demonstrate familiarity with the basics of imagery, rhythm, and form. Students write regularly, read and criticize one another's writing, read in contemporary poetry.

Open to English majors only. Pre Req: ENGLISH 354 w/B Interested students should send a portfolio of 3 poems to Professor Espada's email (mespada@english.umass.edu) by November 15th . Please include contact information. Submission deadline is November 15th. Registration after this date is possible, but priority will be given to students who meet the November 15th deadline. Students will be notified of their status by December 10th. Registration by department permission only.
