The capital "L" Law is the most conspicuous tool that government uses to exert control over the behavior of people and institutions. In spite of the authority of the government, the Law is never fully settled and, there is an ongoing struggle to configure the legal system. This is true especially along the conspicuous fault lines that we recognize as culture war issues. This course will examine those "hot button" topics and will drill down into what exactly is going on in real time as various factions attempt to shape the Law to their purposes.
This course is open to Senior, Junior, and Sophomore Legal Studies majors only.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
