Music Education 690X - Measurement & Eval/Music-Ed

Music teachers are often challenged regarding accountability of their teaching, especially in light of the National Standards and current economic conditions. Traditional education of music teachers has not included courses designed to prepare individuals in this important facet of teaching. New findings regarding measurement and evaluation of music aptitude and music achievement increase viability of such an offering. This course is designed to: (1) acquaint you with available music aptitude and music achievement tests; (2) instruct you in proper use of such tests; (3) enhance your understanding of test scores; and (4) aid you in constructing tests to measure music achievement.
