The theoretical foundations for understanding cultural diversity in health and illness beliefs and behaviors, and selected practical implications of this understanding will be explored. Cultures within the United States are emphasized. Students will engage in participant observation as a methodology for learning and understanding another culture. Students will explore dance as a culturally appropriate form of physical activity.
