Considering a clinical or research career? Want to learn more about antioxidant therapeutics and how to recognize a hoax? This seminar will investigate the common disease "mechanism" of oxidative stress and how it contributes to a myriad of diseases. We will look at antioxidants in consumer products, and evaluate how effective specific antioxidants are in preventing stress and disease. It is recommended, but not required, that students have a basic foundation of chemistry.
Open to seniors and juniors in Public Health, Kinesiology, Communication Disorders, or Nutrition. This course is open to Public Health, Kinesiology and Communication Disorders Seniors only from November 12-November 16. On November 17 Nutrition Seniors may enroll as well, and then on November 19 it will be open to Juniors in Public Health, Kinesiology, Communication Disorders and Nutrition as well.
