College of Inform & Comp Sci 298E - P- Educational Outreach

The class focus will be on planning events for CS Education Week and honing skills for that event. The events will take place at local primary and secondary schools, with the goal of raising student awareness of computer science as a field of study and profession and increasing student confidence in their ability to participate in computer science. This course does not count toward CS Major requirements.

Open to Senior, Junior or Sophmore Computer Science majors only. COMPSCI 187 or ECE 242 w/ B STUDENTS MEET ONCE A WEEK TO PLAN A SET OF EVENTS FOR CS EDUCATION WEEK, DECEMBER 4-10. MEETS WITH CICS 298L. INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL IS REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS PRIOR TO BEING ADMITTED TO THE COURSE. ELIGIBLE SOPHOMORE, JUNIOR, SENIOR INFORMATICS (BDIC) MAJORS SHOULD REQUEST AN OVERRIDE IF UNABLE TO ENROLL ON SPIRE.
