The Mesoamerican subcontinent from the Spanish conquest to the present. The evolution of contemporary Mesoamerican pluralism and sociocultural integration. Understanding of contemporary Meso-american society through historical depth, study of rural communities (the mass of ethnographic work), and analysis of the role of power, politics, and money at the national and international levels.
