Egyptian Arabic I is offered in a special independent study format through the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages. The course develops speaking and listening skills in Egyptian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions with a native speaker and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. In order to enroll in this course, students must have completed the equivalent of one year of elementary Modern Standard Arabic in a course with a speaking component in Modern Standard Arabic or a dialect. Students studying Egyptian Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Egypt and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.
Students must apply to add this course; Contact the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages for details: fivecolleges.edu/fclang
