Sound systems of varieties of English spoken in the U.S. and elsewhere. Learning how to describe "Englishes" in terms of phonology (vowels and consonant types, syllables, intonation). (Gen.Ed. SB, DU)
Pre Req: LINGUIST 201 Not to be taken after LINGUIST 402 or 414.
