This course will cover topics related to the broad issue of detecting and measuring network interference. This will include topics such as traffic differentiation, network neutrality, surveillance, and blocking/censorship of content. The course will focus on network measurement tools and techniques in the context of detecting and observing manipulations and interference with network traffic. When relevant, historical and ethical/legal context will be discussed in relation to these topics. This course counts as a CS Elective for the CS Major (BS and BA).
Open to undergraduate CS majors who have COMPSCI 453 with a grade of C of better. LECT 01 FOR UNDERGRADS; LECT 02 FOR GRADS. MEETS WITH COMPSCI 690B.
