A seminar in writing short stories and other fiction for students who demonstrate familiarity with the basis of scene and story. Students write regularly, read and criticize one another's writing, read in contemporary fiction. Prerequisite: ENGLISH 354 with a grade of 'B' or better.
Pre Req: ENGLISH 354 w/B Prerequisites: ENGLISH 354 with a grade of 'B' or better.
Students should email a 3-5 page story to Professor Farrell (kfarrell@english.umass.edu). Application deadline is November 20th. Students will be notified of their status. Registration after this date is possible, but priority will be given to students who meet the November 20th deadline. Please let us know 1) if you are seeking the specialization in Creative Writing and 2) when you plan to graduate. Registration by instructor permission only.
