Levantine Arabic VI is offered in a special independent study format through the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, and Syrian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions with a native speaker and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. In order to enroll in this course, students must have completed Levantine Arabic V or the equivalent and be comfortable with advanced level speaking and listening skills. Enrolled students participate in choosing discussion topics.
