Embedded Computational Systems is a hands-on laboratory for building integrated systems. We develop analytical skills and discuss sensors, motor drivers, I/O, control logic, and operating systems for embedded applications. Students build several individual projects and invent one integrated, semester-long team project.
Open to junior and senior Computer Science students who received a grade of 'C' or better in any one of the following courses: COMPSCI 383, 403, M&I-ENG 310, 313, 397B, E&C-ENG 313, 323 or 353. LECT 01 FOR UNDERGRADS; LECT 02 FOR GRADS. NO OPTION FOR PASS/FAIL. ATTEND FIRST CLASS MEETING. INSTRUCTOR WILL COMBINE STUDENTS WITH COMPLEMENTARY BACKGROUNDS INTO TEAMS. NON-CS UNDERGRADUATES WHO MEET PREREQUISITE AND MS-EE AND MS-ME STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REQUEST OVERRIDES VIA THE ON-LINE FORM: https://www.cics.umass.edu/overrides.
