Introduction to Brazilian culture. Readings cover aspects of Brazilian history, economic and social development, folklore and the arts. Preliminary background for the in-depth study of Brazilian literature. The course has a significant language component to help students improve their written and oral abilities in Portuguese.
Current topics in Brazilian culture and civilization presented by the lyrics of well-known Brazilian songwriters (Musica Popular Brasileira, Hip-Hop and Samba).
