In this course, students will participate in all aspects of managing a meat goat herd, including nutritional management, health management, pregnancy, neonatal care and marketing.
Open to freshman BS-ANIMLSCI majors. Non majors should contact smarston@vasci.umass.edu for permission to enroll.

Work with goats poses health risks, including development of allergic reactions, physical injury, and exposure to zoonotic diseases. To mitigate these risks, compliance with University and Farm Biosecurity Protocols is required as well as appropriate attire (including gloves, coveralls, and washable rubber boots or steel-toe boots)
