While Many of Du Bois' contemporaries theorized about race, Du Bois applied sociological principles to identify meaningful solutions to the problems associated with racism. This course is about why Du Bois's work matters today. We will be covering the work of Du Bois in conversation with contemporary scholars from the era of Reconstruction to Black Lives Matter.
