The goal of this course is to provide both intellectual and historical understanding of how U.S. financial markets and Federal Reserve came to exist in their current shape and form. The course will be structured by time period, with most time and emphasis placed on the most recent hundred years, and especially the past five decades. How current financial institutions behave and influence the American society will be covered in detail.
ECON 204 and 311 Open only to current sophomores and juniors until after juniors enroll, then open to all on November 10. Seniors may enroll by permission of instructor only.

Students who complete this course will be able to enroll in the Fed College Challenge course planned for the Fall 2019 semester.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
