The colloquium will require students to design experiments to test hypotheses concerning expected behaviors in at least two different scenarios of choice. Since experiments cannot be conducted with virtual instruction, in the second part of the course, students will analyze what hypothetical results for the experiments would confirm or refute their hypotheses. This will develop student skills in understanding the connection between theory and empirical experiments, both in the design of the experiment and in construction of an explanation of how results should be interpreted in light of the theory.
Open to Commonwealth Honors College Students only. Must be enrolled in 297R.
