English 355 - Creative Writing Fiction

A seminar in writing short stories and other fiction for students who demonstrate familiarity with the basis of scene and story. Students write regularly, read and criticize one another's writing, read in contemporary fiction. Prerequisite: ENGLISH 354 with a grade of 'B' or better.

ENGLISH 354 w/B Interested students can send 3-5 pages of their favorite writing as well as a brief paragraph about some writing they would like to do in class and how a writing class might benefit that work. Registration after this date is possible, but priority will be given to students who meet the April 30th deadline. Students will be notified of their status by May 15th. Please let us know 1) if you are seeking the specialization in Creative Writing and 2) when you plan to graduate. Registration by instructor permission only.
