This course discusses the following topics: a) Student loans and their impact on students, their families, and the macroeconomy (for example, by lowering homeownership); b) Household consumer debt, including mortgage and its macroeconomic effects; c) Debt finance by firms and its implications for financial instability; d) Government debt and growth.
