The second half of a year-long topics/research seminar sequence exploring U.S. cultural history from the 18th century to the present. The fall course (History 655: Topics in US Cultural History) ends with students handing in a detailed prospectus for a 25-35 page original research paper to be written during spring semester. At the end of the semester, students will present their revised papers to the entire History Department in an afternoon symposium.
