This course covers the fundamental principles behind characterization approaches such as electron microscopy/spectroscopy, x-ray spectroscopy, diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and synchrotron techniques employed in the development of materials application. Lectures are supplemented by 4-5 laboratory demonstrations of the techniques throughout the term.
Open to Graduate students only. M&I-ENG 201 & 302 Undergraduates may see instructor to enroll.
