What psychologically distinguishes rivalry from competition? Social psychology and other social sciences have a long-standing tradition of investigating competition and conflict, but the concerted study of rivalry has only been underway for about a decade. The goal of this course is to develop a recognition and understanding of competition, conflict, and rivalry from psychological (e.g. social, peace) and other social science perspectives (e.g. political science, business, sport management).
