This course focuses on the analysis and practice of communication design and serves as an introduction to integrated design production. Students will work with various software applications including Adobe Creative Cloud and experiment with hands-on fabrication in the iterative design process. Students should expect to engage in studio tutorials and apply both theoretical principles and original research to the creation of final projects. Classes are structured around individual and collaborative design assignments with a focus on project management, process documentation, digital composition and layout. The course generally covers print, publication, and basic interactive design, including elements of typography and time-based media. This course is best served for students interested in graphic design, digital fabrication, and interactive media.
This class is open to MA-Art and MFA-Art students only
