Through meetings, materials, and assignments in addition to the regular schedule for German 275, students in this 1-credit Honors Colloquium will be able to engage more deeply with key questions of the course including: How do we produce, and determine the value of different kinds of knowledge? How have (perceived) boundaries between categories of knowledge changed over time? How is knowledge production and value related to social and political developments? What effects do knowledge production, value, and categorization have on the way we see the world and interact with others? German 275 is structured to include hands-on learning through projects and experiments, so students in the affiliated Honors Colloquium will also have the opportunity to expand on these activities from class and/or design additional activities to further explore their specific interests.
