(note: open to non-SPHHS students)

This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in public health and health sciences. The first six weeks will provide foundational skills for students to thrive at UMass. The last seven weeks will focus on exploring the topic: The Pollution in You.

Pollution is often discussed in the context of the environment. But pollution is also found in the human body. Where does it come from, and how does it affect us? In this seminar, we will cover topics related to pollution and human health including sources of pollution, the diseases that are linked to these exposures, and the steps we can take to protect ourselves and the environment.
