Open to School of Public Health and Health Science (SPHHS) students. SPHHS FYS U-Thrive: Explore- Health in Gen Z
This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in public health and health sciences. The first six weeks will provide foundational skills for students to thrive at UMass. The last seven weeks will focus on exploring the topic: Health in Gen Z.

Health is defined as "a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being" by the World Health Organization. This seminar will examine these three components of health in today's young adult generation. Students will evaluate the impact of social media on well-being, the impact of the college lifestyle on physical health, and discuss tactics to reduce the stigma around mental health.
