Theater 762 - Costume Design Studio

Design and technical assignments on Department of Theater productions and varied tutorial projects in design and related technical problem-solving. May include research techniques, conceptualization, the study of characterization, elements of design, rendering techniques, draping, tailoring, make-up, and portfolio development.

Open to Graduate Theater students only. SPECIAL TOPIC - Mask Making. In mask making the student will be introduced to the art and craft of making mask using the products thermoplastic, liquid latex and other principle mediums. The student will have the unique experience to choose their own projects. During the semester, the students will create a plaster face cast, learn to sculpt in ?wet clay?, form the mask in thermoplastic, and prepare the mask to be worn while learning the basic elements of design: line, proportion, balance, mass.
