This class provides an introduction to the operation of international economic systems. It emphasizes both contemporary dynamics of global economic functioning as well as the historical development of global economic systems as they have unfolded over time. A particular focus of the class is on the institutions that enable and govern economic activity ? meaning institutions of law and property rights, national governmental policies, and the international organizations that govern global economic processes. Open to Sophomores & Freshmen only. Open to freshmen and sophomores until August 1, then open to all.
