Focus on issues of social identity, social and cultural diversity, and societal manifestations of oppression. Draws on interdisciplinary perspectives of social identity development, social learning theory, and sociological analyses of power and privilege within broad social contexts. (Gen.Ed. I, DU)

There are 30 seats reserved for incoming EDUC majors. If SPIRE does not allow you to add this class and you are NOT an EDUC major, please check back after summer New Student Orientation advising is completed in mid July. Any remaining open seats will be released at that time. If you are an EDUC major and you are unable to add the class due to NSO enrollment capacity limits, please contact the EDUC advising office for an override.

Multiple required components--lab and/or discussion section. To register, submit requests for all components simultaneously.
