Water, energy, and food security are all interconnected, which means that activities in one area can commonly influence one or both of the others. This interaction is referred to as a nexus. Think of agriculture as an example: many people in the world face insecurity with regard to one or more of these needs. In this class, we are going to study the ?water-food-energy nexus.? We will analyze these issues causing these insecurities and come up with creative and sustainable solutions. Along the way, we will share ideas creatively, have engaging discussions, and use our skills and perhaps a bit of art to have an active and fun class. By the end of the class, I hope you will see yourself as a problem solver and perhaps on the path to becoming a scientist that creates sustainable ideas to address these problems.
