The SES- First Generation first year seminar explores connections between students' personal interests and their academic interests in the programs of the School of Earth and Sustainability. Emphasis is placed on the experience and perspectives of first-generation college students. The seminar examines the paths and skills that help students connect their future goals to a college curriculum centered around earth science, environmental science and sustainability studies. It provides students with insights and perspectives that help them navigate successfully through their undergraduate program and to be engaged in careers and life-long learning related to their SES majors.
