Workplace safety is crucial for every successful building project. This course teaches construction safety concepts through lectures, demonstrations and a self-guided study of safety principles and OSHA requirements. Students will acquire additional safety credentials through independent study (at some additional cost). This can be an OSHA 10 hr card (a basic requirement for work on construction sites), a OSHA 30 hr card or some other safety certification as agreed to by the instructor. Class lectures and demonstrations supplement the independent study, enable students to navigate OSHA regulations, and apply learning in a practical way. Students will also gain awareness of related topics for construction such as environmental issues and fire protection.

This class is open to Graduate students and Senior, Junior or Sophomore Undergraduate students only.

Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
