This course provides an overview of the federal environmental laws and regulations that govern the development of offshore wind projects in the United States (US). Told mainly from a developer's perspective, this course will help you understand how those applicable rules are actually interpreted and implemented in this quickly growing industry. There are only seven wind turbine generators in US waters. Soon, there will be over 100 times that many and these next few years, with these first few projects, will set precedent for all future projects. Through real stories and multiple guest lecturers in the business, this course will help you understand how offshore wind projects are actually permitted and what role you might play in future developments.
