The course is intended to help students develop skills that are relevant to the chemical engineering industries, such as time management, teamwork, general laboratory etiquette, and many other fundamental research and professional skills. In particular, the objective of the course is to give hands-on experience to the student, research, design and construct an electro-chemically powered vehicle within certain size constraints, and attend the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chem-E car competition.
