In this course we examine the important problems in Usability, Human Computer Interaction, User Interfaces, and Human Centered Computing. We will examine elements of HCI history, human information processing capabilities, HCI design, user interface prototyping methods and new applications and directions in human computer interaction.

Open to juniors and seniors in Computer Science or Informatics. COMPSCI 186 or 187 w/ C SEATS RESERVED FOR INFORM MAJORS AS COURSE IS REQUIRED FOR MAJOR. ELIGIBLE STUDENTS MAY BE UNABLE TO ENROLL IN OPEN SEATS UNTIL THE RESERVE FOR INFORM MAJORS IS MET. A PREREQUISITE OF COMPSCI 186 (OR COMPSCI 187) WITH A C OR BETTER HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE FACULTY SENATE FOR FALL 2021.
