Univ Interdepartmental Course 197INT - International Student Success

This seminar is designed to welcome international undergraduate students who have never studied in the USA into the UMass Amherst community. It will provide students with tools and strategies for a smooth transition to the campus and for building a foundation for a successful academic experience. Students will engage in conversations and activities related to cultural differences and will have a structured opportunity to ask questions. Additionally, students will be introduced to a number of campus offices, programs, and resources which will help them to thrive in academic as well as social aspects of life as a UMass Amherst student. Equally as important as the topics studied will be the students? engagement in an assortment of group activities aimed to develop mastery of a variety of personal well-being and academic skills critical for success in college. This class is offered in face to face format only.
