This course is designed to provide a learning community for all students to discuss the value of, importance in, and skills to contribute to positive social change as a student leader in the residence halls at UMass Amherst.

FOR COURSE DESCRIPTION SECTION

This course is required of all students interested in applying for the Resident Assistant (RA) and Peer Mentor (PM) for the 2024-25 academic year. In order to meet eligibility requirements for the RA or PM positions, candidates must successfully Pass this course prior to the start of their employment duties and dates.

This purpose of this course is to provide a learning community for all students to discuss the value of, importance in, and skills to contribute to positive social change as a student leader in the residence halls at UMass Amherst.

This course meets for seven weeks. The first class will be held the second week of the semester (week of September 11, 2023).

All students who enroll in this course will also need to complete a separate RA and PM application by the deadline.
