It's dangerous to go alone! Being alive is an ordeal. Animals must find food, fend off enemies, and take care of their young. A little help can go a long way, and it's no surprise that many animals band together to survive the perils of the world. There is power in numbers: the deadly grace of killer whales on the hunt, the sheer impenetrability of roaming wildebeest herds, and the breathtaking efficiency of ant colonies are testament to that. Join us on a tour of the world's most exceptional team players. With ecology and evolution as our guide, we'll explore why the forces of nature push some animals to stick together, while others are perfectly fine toughing it out alone. Along the way, you might discover something about yourself - after all, humans are the most ubiquitous social creatures on this planet.
