This course will introduce you to designing and engineering micro- and macro-sized devices that help in studying and understanding different diseases in vitro. The course will provide hands-on experience in making silicone or PDMS-based simple microfluidic devices to get you into engineering and design concepts. The students will be taught CAD designing and allowed to design and 3D print their own devices. The overall theme will be to expose the students to engineering and its connections with biology, health, and medicine.
