Legal Studies H482 - Irish Peace Process (colloq)

Open to seniors & juniors only. This one credit honors colloquium for "The Irish Peace Process" is only open to students enrolled in Legal Studies 482. This opportunity will include both an intellectual exploration through assigned readings and engaged discussion about the process of conflict transformation from a critical legal perspective as well as the chance to learn from videotaped, and when possible, live interviews with local community and political leaders who are building the peace. Students will have the chance to learn from firsthand accounts of the challenges and opportunities of `cross community? truth recovery and reconciliation work. Honors colloquium participants will be expected to integrate scholarship, primary source documents, and what they learn from interviews into their own cogent conflict assessment and conflict resolution analysis presented as a final paper or project.
