Mechanical & Industrial Engrg 651 - Adv Prod Plan&Contrl

Understanding of basic factory dynamics and the impact of variability on performance and optimal process design through quantitative methods. Topics include inventory systems, push vs. pull manufacturing control systems, just-in-time, lean manufacturing and six-sigma principles, forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling. Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of probability and statistics, linear programming and production planning.

Open to Graduate students only. Undergraduate students require instructor permission to join.
